Introduction

VideoPoint® Capture software makes the process of capturing video from digital sources and converting them into analyzable VideoPoint® movies a snap. VideoPoint® Capture is compatible with most video capture hardware on both the Macintosh and Windows ® platforms. With this powerful software tool, real-world movies can be captured by your students, then analyzed using VideoPoint®.

Other Features:

Dropped Frame Corrections
Ever get those annoying duplicated frames while capturing? VideoPoint® Capture eliminates most instances of frames dropped during the capture process. It also lets you know when you have irregular time steps.

De-Interlaced Video to get 60 fps *
Get TWICE as much data for those very short clips. Great for projectiles, toys and sports! *De-Interlaced Video is available only for hardware that captures both even and odd fields. This includes all digital video controllers (Mac built-in FireWire, etc) and some analog PCI/PC cards. Look in the documentation for something that says 'Full Frame' or '60 fields/second'.

Original Rate Correction
Looking at a super-slow-motion clip from a laser-disk? No problem. Just enter the original frame rate from the source (i.e. 500 frames/second) and the times are all updated. The movie opens up in VideoPoint® with correct time codes!

Film To Video Correction
Captured a movie from a rented video (i.e. looking at stunts from T2) ? Notice that every fourth frame is duplicated? VideoPoint capture eliminates the duplicated frames and corrects the time code to help you get the most accurate data possible.

On-Line Documentation
The entire documentation is hosted on-line. This way, we can keep you posted on any updates, changes or problems that arise. It also allows us to make the troubleshooting guide up-to-date and integrate all changes immediately.
